  1. Registration of online mining cadastre users. The mining cadastre requires that potential users get registered in the system to enable them log in, make applications and upload required documents.
  2. Receiving and Processing of applications of mineral rights for the Mineral Right Board (MRB). The licensing process has three stages; Licencing Division confirms completeness of applications and other matters prior to forwarding to the MRB. The MRB reviews the submitted applications and prepares an advisory for Cabinet Secretary’s (CS) action (approval or reject).
  3. Receiving and Processing of applications of mineral dealing rights for the Director of Mines. The dealings licensing process has two stages; Director of Mines checks and confirms completeness of applications and other related requirements and makes recommendations for the Cabinet Secretary’s action (approval or reject).
  4. Receiving and Processing of applications of mineral export permits for the Cabinet Secretary’s approval. The exports permitting process has two stages; Director of Mines who checks and confirms completeness of applications and other related requirements and makes recommendations for Cabinet Secretary’s approval.
  5. Preparation of Licence and Permit documents for Cabinet Secretary action and dispatch to the customers. Director of Mines prepares documentation on Cabinet Secretary’s (CS) decision and once finalized dispatches them to the customer.
  6. Receiving and Processing of applications of explosives licences and permits for approval. The explosives licensing process has two stages; Chief Inspector of Explosives checks and confirms completeness of applications and other related requirements and makes recommendations for Director of Mines approval.
  7. Registration of licences, permits and other documents. Registration of a licence/permit is the last action in the licensing process. Some documents become valid after registration for example assignment of mining licences.
